First let me say I heard of you the first time on newgrounds and loved your remixes of some of my favorite video games, and the original work you had there as well. Bushido blade is one of my favorites.

Now that I realize you have much more under your belt than what was on newgrounds, I am very exited. I have just bought and listened to the Fittest soundtrack and loved every song. Great mixes of styles in all, and each song is varied enough from the last to not be repetitive. More than likely I will be purchasing the world circuit as well, since that appeals to my style.

Just wanted to let it be known that someone from newgrounds actually found your work lol. Looking forward to future game remixes and original work from you.

    Zircon,

I found your “A Nightmare Before Kefka” on the OC Remix site. I’m madly in love with that song; it’s a technical masterpiece that I’m sure Nobuo Uematsu would love as well. I need help because I can’t shut the damn song off!

I’ll look for you on Xbox Live. I’m also a SFIV player. :) My gamertag is Speed Alchemist.

    Thanks!

Have you used autotune on vocals in Just Hold On? It seems like no one today sings with his own voice :-(

There’s nothing wrong with using a slight amount of pitch correction; but rest assured, Jill sung opera for years.. she doesn’t need it :)

Slight correction is Ok, but it’s much easier for everyone to sing directly through ‘a box’ :-)

I first heard of you with the release of FL 9. However, I wish I would have come to your website sooner. Your remixes of old game tunes take me back and leave me aching for more. I don’t believe in bit-torrent (for several reasons), so I plan to purchase any of your albums that I can find. Please keep up the good work. I’ll be watching your tutorials when I can as I’m always in the mood to learn new and intriguing techniques.

There is guitar strumming in FL 9 you can either go to Tools>Browser smart find, and search “guitar” and a list will populate, and the metal or overdriven guitar is called “slayer” in the channel listing.@Ratish

Hi really enjoyed your song used for demo on 9.1 demo of FL.

I have been great admirer of FL for several years now and plan to take the plunge and start investing in software etc.

However, I noticed that my PC certainly struggled with the 9.1 demo !!

I was wondering if you can recommend me specifications for a dedicated laptop for FL and other recording purposes.

    many thanks.

    Hi
happy to find your site thru FL studio aand youtube vids. Im attempting to learn the side chaining technique, altho you use certain terms you are very familiar with, but newer Fl
guys have to wade through. Im happily trying to absorb the technique. The idea apparently is to prevent overload of the signal as the bass and kick hit together, or other convergeance zones.
I have quik questions, if you dont mind, and a few quik comments.
I suppose youve been alerted to DJ Jessy not crediting you in some of his uses of “Hold On”
    on you tube.
Because hold on is such a beautiful work that should be on the radio all day in my opinion.!
No one should mess with it!! My question is ( maybe I should ask your wife!) hpw were the vocals done? At your place? I have unfortunate hiss in my recordings, done in FL 8. I know 9 has some tools, but I did everything in 8, hoping to learn how to elimate hiss later.
It’s bad. But when I remove the Maximus, or para 2, or Soundgoodizer, the hiss drops way down! Does Jillian sing in a special noise free room? Didn’t you do that song in FL8? Can you give me some tips on clean hiss-free FL recording of vocals?
Thanx for your time , i will tell folks about your site. Curt

Hi Curt, yes, I think I am familiar with DJ Jessy… I try to stop these folks, but barring that, just post publicly and let people know who the original author was :)
As for vocal recording, my best recommendation would be a USB microphone like a Samson CO1U. This is cost-effective. You should try to record in a bedroom or another room with lots of padding + carpeting to avoid echoes and reflections. If you heavily compress or EQ vocals you may bring out the noise in a noisy recording, so better to get the best recording possible – a USB mic may help with that. You can also look at noise removal tools like those in the free Audacity program. It allows you to select several seconds of noise in your recording and use that as a “profile” to remove noise elsewhere.

    Hello,

I am looking at creating a game for XNA based on some work I was doing while in school. I downloaded FL studio to see if I could learn to do some music mixing. Great intro song. I’m wondering what people do when they want music in their game but they don’t know enough to mix it themselves. I’m going to see what I can do but I may want to get back with you about using some royalty free stuff or something. Might see ya on TF2. Haven’t played it much but its on my Steam along with everything else Valve since HL1 LOL.
