FITTEST – Original Soundtrack (2009)
Purchase from Web Store ($9.99)
Purchase from CD Baby
Purchase from iTunes
The FITTEST Original Soundtrack is a tribute to classic video game music, featuring twelve full musical tracks in a wide range of musical styles influenced by such games as Turrican, Mega Man, Donkey Kong Country, Contra and Dance Dance Revolution. Throughout the highly melodic score, zircon (Andrew Aversa) expands beyond the realm of his previous breakbeat and trance albums with tracks like “Morsecode” (uptempo electro-funk), “Fusion Master” (80s synth pop in the style of Michael Jackson), “Star Command” (over-the-top rock/metal), and “Psychesphere” (psychedelic, sitar-laden grooves.)
Of course, there’s still plenty of electronica to go around. zircon’s trademark technique of combining organic, acoustic instruments with enormous beats and deep synths can be found in many of the tracks like the micro-dance tune “Cellular” and the BT-inspired “Photosynthesis”. Even the startup logo sound effects and menu music were included (all designed by zircon), with every track carefully edited, looped and mastered for your listening pleasure.
So, if you’re a fan of video game music and arrangements, or even if you’re one to just linger on a stage for a few more seconds to hear the BGM loop, this is your jam!
FITTEST is available now on Xbox Live Indie Games for 400 Microsoft Points!

Mass Media Constant (2009)
Purchase from Protagonist Records ($6.99)
Purchase from CD Baby
Purchase from iTunes
MASS MEDIA CONSTANT (a Protagonist Records release) is a 21st century drum n’ bass odyssey for the networked generation. By drawing influence from such sources as LTJ Bukem, Photek, BT, Pendulum, and The Sims, zircon ensures no two tracks sound alike. His signature electro-organic style, developed over the course of four previous breakbeat and trance albums, has morphed and evolved with the fast tempos and scintillating colors found throughout this album.
As you listen, imagine a scene conceived by the artist during the album’s creation – walking through a super-stylized version of Times Square at midnight on a Saturday, looking at all the billboards, bathing in neon light, hearing music coming from bars and restaurants, and watching cars and buses fly by.

System EP (2008)
Purchase from Beatport
Purchase from Amazon MP3
Purchase from iTunes
The first release by zircon on Progressive Grooves (PGR038), SYSTEM is a progressive breakbeat epic inspired by artists like Hybrid and BT. The title track is an electro-mechanical odyssey of acid synths, heavy beats, morphed acoustics and powerful guitars, mixed and meshed into a time warp of trance. Track number two, the affectionately mistitled “Lather to the Sky” is actually a cut from ANTIGRAVITY, remastered.
SYSTEM has been spun in many DJ mixes, including the Angelion promo mix by Retroid, and has received critical praise on sites like TranceCritic, whose reviewer System-J wrote:
“Erm… there’s nothing wrong this release. Nothing. Production, writing, dancefloor efficiency, home listening value… Zircon has delivered a release that is airtight in every relevant department, and more than that is refreshing. Here is a track that harks back to the best of dance music’s past and yet manages to seamlessly integrate such influences with production that is bang up to date.
Full marks for singles are very rare because the format is limited generally, and there’s usually one duff remix to drag the whole affair down a mark or two. Not here. 10/10 seems overly profound a score for two tracks that don’t clock up ten minutes between them, but as the mantra goes: quality over quantity.”

2. Lather to the Sky

Ever thought about how cool it would be if that breakbeat tune you just heard had a Japanese taiko breakdown? How about some slick drum n’ bass rhythms in a samba? Gregorian choirs plus granular synthesis? A bit of Persian bouzouki in your smooth jazz? Maybe you haven’t, but you’re about to hear what it’s like!
Welcome to THE WORLD CIRCUIT…
This EP-length album consists of eight songs that explore sounds, melodies, and harmonies from around the world and fuse them with modern electronic elements like synth basses, sweeps, blips, pads, and drum machines. Close your eyes and imagine exploring an ancient South American ruins in “Enter the Temple”. Feel the cool breeze as the pulse of “Drum and Bossa” gets your foot tapping. Or envision a multi-million dollar movie car chase to the tune of the bombastic “Bazaar”. From the rainforests of Africa to Eastern Europe, the Far East, India, and more… this album is an ethnotronic adventure you’ve gotta check out.

Antigravity (2007)

“Antigravity takes you on a wild energetic ride and is well worth the price of admission.” – Patrick McFarland, Ad Terras Per Aspera
“An album of the “chillax at the end of a night out” or “up all night to finish this damn project” variety, Antigravity by zircon is well constructed and flows easily from beginning to end. Before you know it, the sun is coming up and you have to go to work… Antigravity is definitely going in my electronica library.” – R.N., The Compendium Magazine
The much-anticipated follow up to the award-winning IMPULSE PRIME is here!
ANTIGRAVITY is the musical culmination of two full years of work, featuring over 50 minutes of soaring, pulsating, genre-bending rhythms and melodies. Though most of the songs focus on sharp, driving drumlines – phat beats, as it were – the genres included range from big beat, to trance, drum n’ bass, new age/world fusion, and more. Regardless of style, zircon continues to apply stunning attention to detail in his complex sonic textures and dynamic songwriting, which draws its inspiration from artists like BT, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method, Ils, Pendulum, and others.
This time around, zircon is not the only musician forging evolved electronic soundwaves. With vocalist Jillian Goldin (www.jilliangoldin.com) powering two of the album’s most anthemic tracks – “Breathing You In” and “Antigravity” – this is a side of zircon that you haven’t heard before, but are sure to enjoy. Guitar prodigy Cain McCormack provides some truly overdriven instrumentals on the drum-n-bass song “Depth Charge”, one of the album’s darker, yet still organic, tracks. And on the Moby/Fatboy Slim-inspired “Nitronic”, Jimmy Hinson (www.biggiantcircles.com) tears it up with some funky fresh synth soloing.
If you are a longtime zircon fan, you will not be disappointed with the next stage of musical development and refinement contained in ANTIGRAVITY. If you are a new listener and enjoy electronic music to any degree, you’ll love the blend of hard-hitting beats, ethereal pads, and intricate blends of real and artificial sounds that has become zircon’s signature style.

IMPULSE PRIME, the next electronic offering from zircon begins where the successful PHASMA ELEMENTUM left off. Compared to the first, trance-oriented album, IMPULSE PRIME is a much more comprehensive, detailed, fine-tuned, and better-built musical undertaking. With a new emphasis on big beats, this album covers nearly an hour’s worth of fresh new electronic material, inspired by artists like The Crystal Method, Prodigy, Infected Mushroom, and many more. Experience haunting, ethereal vocal textures, synths, and melodies meshed with massive, house-shaking drums in “Hourglass”. Nod your head to pumping, aggressive rhythms accompanied by down-and-dirty guitar riffs in “Acid Dominion”. Or, sit back and relax while letting the funky drum, retro synth, and EP grooves of “Endorphin” flow.
This is an album for any fans of electronic music; anyone who wants some fun, danceable, and interesting music to listen to – whether they’re on the dance floor or simply unwinding after school or work. If you’re looking for generic trance beats or “cutting-edge” and experimental ambient works, this ain’t your CD. But if you want to get down to some truly monstrous, old-school beats combined with a vast array of acoustic, ethnic, and synthesized sounds in ways you haven’t heard before, then you’d be nuts to not give this disc a shot.
So turn up your speakers or put on your headphones, close your eyes, and dive into the more enjoyable, thicker, and richer world of IMPULSE PRIME!

Phasma Elementum (2004)
Purchase from Web Store ($8.99)
Purchase from CD Baby
Purchase from iTunes
The venerable debut release by zircon may have a more ‘old-school’ sound compared to his newest works, but his signature organic-electronic style clearly has its roots here. PHASMA ELEMENTUM is influenced by electronic and classical artists alike, featuring a variety of genres from melodic trance to drum n’ bass, industrial, and more. The album, when it was first released, was described by the artist as follows:
“The music you will find on this album is not only influenced by the greats of electronica and my own ideas, but also by baroque, classical, and romantic composers, and even a few modern ones. This influence manifests itself in the form of more developed progressions, melodies, and harmonies, unlike the typically drawn-out, repetitive techno mixes prevalent these days. You could say I strongly believe in “quality over quantity” in the case of music, and I think that electronic music deserves just as much attention outside of the club scene as within it, and should be interesting and enjoyable to listen to anytime.”
Runtime: 41:05.
Question: That “Kindred” song that you and your wife collaborated on, is it on an album somewhere? I’ve been looking, and not finding, as her websites are 404 errors. I really prefer buying physical albums to buying mp3 downloads.
Thanks for the help. Love your music. ^_^
GM: The song isn’t available on any album yet, however it WILL be on her next album which we’ve started working on now! Jill’s websites should now be up, too. The proper URL is now http://www.JillianAversa.com, though JillianGoldin.com will still redirect.
Congratulations on the New Stuff track in FL9!
Wonderful compositions! enjoying your music now :) !
Love this stuff!
